Magnetic Therapy is an external aid to control soft tissue pain. This includes muscular. Joint and nerve related pain.

All living matter is amagnetic i.e. it assumes the polarity that it is placed in.

There is no resistance to the energy going through soft tissue.

A magnetic field will induce a pain relieving effect by the process of induction i.e. it will create a current and ionise the trace elements flowing through the blood stream, For example iron is attracted to a magnetic field, and calcium is repelled from a magnetic field.

A magnetic‑ field will increase blood flow and reduce inflammation.

The action of the north pole of a magnet is to dilate blood vessels. All monopole magnets are marked on the north side. The South Pole will constrict blood vessels and create an anti inflammatory action therefore acting as a diuretic to remove fluid.

You will also hear of bipolar magnets….

They are both north and south poles side by side on the same face.

North Pole magnets are used for poor circulation problems such as muscle cramping, pins and needles, migraines, stress headaches, neck and shoulder tension, cold feet, any symptom that feels cold to the touch such as arthritis and joint pain.

South Pole magnets are used‑ correspondingly for any symptom that creates a hot sensation such as hot swellings around knees and ankles, anything that requires the reduction of fluid.

There are some magnetic products that contain both elements of north and south magnets. These are more common in support products for knees, backs, ankles elbows etc.

Static magnetic fields are permanent.

There are no known side effects with static magnetic fields, they are non invasive and non intrusive

MAGNETIC THERAPY IS A RELIEF NOT A CURE.

You have, I’m afraid, been given some confusing and incorrect information about why gallstones form and that is the good news.

The bad news is that to treat the condition you need an operation to remove the diseased gallbladder, as gallstones usually form because it is malfunctioning.

About 20 per cent of people aged 65 or over have gallstones, but generally there are never any symptoms.

We live with them quite happily. Cholesterol stones account for more than 80 per cent of these.

To understand how they form, it’s best to understand a bit about the gallbladder. This is a small pear-shaped organ behind the liver that stores bile.

Bile is a liquid produced by the liver to help the body digest fats. It contains salts, fat molecules, including cholesterol, bilirubin (a breakdown product of haemoglobin, the red oxygen carrying pigment found in red blood cells) and water.

Changing your diet to one lower in fat won’t make any difference in gallstones

The liver secretes about a pint of bile a day; it makes its way into the gallbladder via channels known as bile ducts.

The gallbladder then stores the bile, before releasing it into the digestive system as and when it’s needed.

However, sometimes the bile remains in the gallbladder for long periods, where it becomes more concentrated.

If the liver then produces too much cholesterol in the bile, small cholesterol crystals can form – these can then clump together to form insoluble stones, which gradually enlarge.

There is no clear proof that diet is directly responsible for this, though there is a suggestion that our rich Westernised food – not the low-fat diet you’ve been told – is somehow linked.

Other factors are family history and obesity – even the female hormone oestrogen is implicated, although how this might cause gallstones is not well understood.

The stones themselves are often detected by chance – an ultrasound being carried out for some other reason – and if there is no pain, they are often left alone.

But tummy pain, referred to as biliary colic, is a sign that the stones are either trapped in a duct or irritating and inflaming the gallbladder, and treatment then becomes necessary.

Antibiotics can help settle any inflammation, but in both cases the gall bladder needs to be removed – simply removing the stones would not help in the long run, as the stones have formed because the gall bladder is behaving abnormally and more would form.

Changing your diet won’t make any difference. The problem is not related to medication taken to lower your blood cholesterol levels, either.

But don’t worry; you can easily function without a gall bladder. In fact, life without a gallbladder goes on as normal – the duct from the liver simply transfers bile direct to the intestine, in greater volume and more diluted than it would be otherwise, but the intestine adapts and sorts it out.

The operation to remove the gallbladder will involve only two or three days in hospital, and you’ll be back to normal in a week or two.

This may not be what you were expecting to hear, but the operation is effective and safe.

No bigger than a walnut and weighing less than a grape, each of your two adrenal function glands sits like a tiny pyramid on top of a kidney (“ad” “renal” means “over” the “kidneys”). But don’t let their size fool you; these powerful little endocrine glands manufacture and secrete steroid hormones such as Cortisol, oestrogen and testosterone that are essential to your health and vitality. They not only significantly affect the functioning of every tissue, organ and gland in your body, they also have important effects on the way you think and feel. Without the hormones the adrenals produce you would die.

The main purpose of your adrenals is to enable your body to deal with stress from every possible source, ranging from injury and disease to work and relationship problems. They largely determine the energy of your body’s responses to every change in your internal and external environment. Whether they signal attack, retreat or surrender, every cell responds accordingly, and you feel the results. It is through the actions of the adrenal hormones that your body is able to mobilize its resources to escape or fight off danger (stress) and survive. In a more primitive society that would mean being able to run away quickly, fight or pursue an enemy or game, endure long periods of physical challenge and deprivation, and store up physical reserves when they’re available. In modern society, these same responses are triggered by such circumstances as a difficult boss, air pollution, family quarrels, financial problems, too little sleep, illness and overindulgence in or sensitivities to food or drugs. If your adrenal function is low, as it is in Adrenal Fatigue, your body cannot respond and adapt properly to these stresses. This can lead to a variety of physical and psychological health problems that are themselves a further source of stress.

It is also your adrenal glands’ job to keep your body’s reactions to stress in balance so that they are appropriate and not harmful. For example, the protective activity of anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant adrenal hormones like Cortisol helps to minimize negative and allergic reactions, such as swelling and inflammation, to alcohol, drugs, foods, environmental allergens, cancer, infection, and autoimmune disorders. These hormones closely affect the utilization of carbohydrates and fats, the conversion of fats and proteins into energy, the distribution of stored fat (especially around your waist and at the sides of your face), normal blood sugar regulation, and proper cardiovascular and gastrointestinal function. After mid-life (menopause in women), the adrenal glands gradually become the major source of the sex hormones circulating throughout the body in both men and women. These hormones themselves have a whole host of physical, emotional and psychological effects, from the level of your sex drive to the tendency to gain weight. Every athlete knows that steroids (adrenal hormones) affect muscular strength and stamina.

Even your propensity to develop certain kinds of diseases and your ability to respond to chronic illness is influenced significantly by the adrenal glands. The more chronic the illness, the more critical the adrenal response becomes. You cannot live without your adrenal hormones and, as you can see from this brief overview, how well you live depends a great deal on how well your adrenal glands function.

Depression

The adrenals have an effect on mental states. As a result, people with Adrenal Fatigue show a tendency toward increased fears, anxiety and depression, have intervals of confusion, increased difficulties in concentrating and less acute memory recall. They often have less tolerance than they normally would and are more easily frustrated.

When the adrenals are not secreting the proper amount of hormones, insomnia is also one of the likely outcomes.

Mild depression is a chief sign of Adrenal Fatigue and, although there are other conditions that cause clinical depression, a saliva test for adrenal hormones will determine whether the adrenals are involved.

Cortisol, DHEA, testosterone and oestrogen are all produced in the adrenals. Decreased levels of each of these hormones have been shown in various scientific studies to be associated with depression. The adrenals secrete all of these hormones. Therefore it is easy to see how Adrenal Fatigue can play a key causal role in depression.

Dental Problems Related to Adrenal Fatigue

Another common source of adrenal burdens is the mouth. This includes tooth abscesses, cracked or decayed teeth, root canals with sub-acute infections, periodontitis, gingivitis and other gum infections, improperly extracted teeth with smoldering infections in the socket where the tooth used to be, mercury fillings leaking into the body (mercury directly suppresses cortisol levels), dental materials that provoke sensitivities, and poor dental work that irritates the teeth, gums or inside of the cheek.

Unresolved dental problems are common but often unrecognized sources of stress and Adrenal Fatigue. The use of mercury amalgams has been a continual, yet vehemently denied, source of toxicity. Mercury is a specific toxin of the adrenals, directly suppressing adrenal hormone output. If Adrenal Fatigue symptoms started within a few months of having particular dental work, the dental work might be an important factor in restoring health, as any one of these dental problems can hamper the ability to heal.

It is best to have teeth checked by a dentist who does not use amalgam (silver) fillings and who practices dentistry with an awareness of the importance of the mouth and teeth to overall health. Unfortunately, most dental schools do not provide much training in the specific ways and means by which the mouth tremendously influences total health, or in methods of inspecting and treating the mouth and teeth within this total body context. They also do not typically include instruction about individual sensitivities to dental materials or the use of alternative safe materials.

The On Site Occupational Massage Program is one of the few ways management can give a boost to employee physical and emotional well being while improving employee productivity and cutting insurance costs
The personal attention given to the employee tells them you care about them as individuals. The resulting reduction in stress and repetitive motion strain and minor injuries will improve the work place morale. Short term this will result in fewer claims.

Long-term results are reduced Worker’ Compensation Insurance rates.

Occupational Massage is not just a shoulder and neck rub to help relax. It benefits everyone in your company from top management throughout the co-workers. This chair massage is a soft tissue treatment, which can have the following results:
Your Employees benefit by:

Reduces the effects of stress and anxiety

Increases blood flow

Lower blood pressure

Improve the flow of lymph

Relax muscle

Reduced fatigue

Increased mental clarity

Increased flexibility

Following illness, stress, injury or disease, it is in a state of “imbalance”, and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium and encourage healing.

The ancient healing art of reflexology has been known to man for many thousands of years. The early Indian, Chinese and Egyptian peoples first practiced it…
…Observed that congestion or tension in any part of the foot mirrors congestion or tension in a corresponding part of the body. Thus, when you treat the big toes there is a related effect in the head, and treating the whole foot can have a relaxing and healing effect on the whole body.

Learning to enjoy our lives is one of the greatest challenges we face as adults.
Humour can be a powerful antidote to stress. As George Burns says,
“You can’t help growing older, but you can help growing old”.
By using humour we can prevent a “hardening of our attitudes.”
“A smile is the shortest distance between two people”, according to Victor Borge.
Thus, humour is an effective way to build positive relationships at work and at home.

Boosts the Immune System
When in a state of mirth, natural killer cells that destroy tumors and viruses increase, as do Gamma-interferon (a disease fighting protein), t-cells, which are a vital part of the immune response, and B-cells, which make disease-destroying antibodies.
It also increases the concentration of salivary immunoglobulin A, which defends against the entry of infectious organisms through the respiratory tract.
Laughter basically brings balance to all the components of the immune system.

Laughing in your conversations could help you feel more relaxed and laid back over the whole situation; it makes your stress seem less daunting and easier to handle and you ultimately feel in control of your situation. Blood Pressure is lowered, and there is an increase in vascular blood flow, and an increase in oxygenation of the blood, which further assists healing.

There also has been some belief that laughter may help prevent some life-threatening diseases such as heart disease. Anger and fear, are two common emotions, which are frequently responsible for the cause of heart attacks.
Do you often feel exhausted after a bout of contagious giggling? This is because you have just had an aerobic workout.

Turn negative thoughts into positive ones.
Stop seeing everything as dark and gloomy.
Communication is important because it also externalizes what is going through your head.
Talking out loud (to yourself or a friend) gets it out in the open.
Sharing will help you put things in perspective because you are forced to verbalize your thoughts, and this means getting it in an orderly fashion so it makes sense to the listener.
Laughing in your conversations could help you feel more relaxed and laid back over the whole situation; it makes your stress seem less daunting and easier to handle and you ultimately feel in control of your situation.
